What is the need for formal education if the product cannot rise above the level an illiterate is operating from?

I feel very sad when I see a Nigerian graduate thinking, reasoning, arguing and analyzing issues like an illiterate.

What’s the need for formal education if the product cannot rise above the level an illiterate is operating from?

Why waste at least 15 years of your first 20 years acquiring education you obviously do not need when you could have become an expert mechanic, carpenter, native doctor or bricklayer?

Some people pass through school but school no pass through them.

You cannot carry out fundamental change without a certain amount of madness. In this case, it comes from nonconformity, the courage to turn your back on the old formulas, the courage to invent the future. It took the madmen of yesterday for us to be able to act with extreme clarity today. I want to be one of those madmen. [...] We must dare to invent the future....Thomas Sankara
